Till today it remains the single constituent college for women’s education in Koshi Commissionary. Since its establishment the college has been catering the much needed woman’s educational requirement of this socially, educationally and economically backward area. Most of the students of the college come from rural background. The college is giving impetus to women’s empowerment by providing high quality education to them.

This college has been very fortunate since its inception that it has got many learned sincere and cultured principals, teaching faculties and efficient non-teaching staffs.

Presently alumni of this college are holding many prestigious posts at state, National as well as international level.

Besides, general education the college also provides vocational and job oriented coursed like B.C.A., B.Ed. etc. It also provides educational opportunities for learners who cannot attend regular class-room teaching, through its IGNOU special study Centre.

The most important specialty of the college is that it is situated amidst the administrative arena of the town.
